Cholesterol in general means its drastic effects in our body. It is actually essential for our body to continue our daily routine.

Excess fat contents in arteries of heart will be cleared away by good cholesterol. Bad cholesterol is being removed by them by not allowing to form plaques in the walls of arteries.

For many years specialists are taking vital effort to bring up the level of good cholesterol in our body. Here some of the methods they use:

1. Maintain Fitness. Doing exercises daily will lead to a healthy life. Running with shoes in the road regularly will be good for health. Running, walking in early morning and frequent exercises will increase good cholesterol.

2. Lower your weight. It is necessary to practice diet control if there is an increase in weight due to fats. Starving for food doesn't lower weight it will lead to death. Intake of balanced food will be good for our health.

 3. Don't be alcoholic. If it is not possible to lead a life without beer or vodka it will be a sinful life. This habit itself increases the harmful bad cholesterol production in one's body. To get away from drastic situations say no to alcohol.

4. Stop Smoking: From the day tobacco is invented it is associated with all kinds of diseases. What smoking does is it weakens a person'e immune system and acts in all possible ways to increase the bad cholesterol in one's body. Smoking is considered as main culprit in causing heart diseases.

5. Canola oil, avocado oil, peanut butter and olive oil are considered to be the sources of good fats. And it is also found that good cholesterol levels can be increased by monounsaturated fats.

Fish oil or omega3 is good source that will increase the good cholesterol. Omega3 is also found in fishes like tuna and salmon. Apart from fishes there some nuts and almonds that contain omega3

It is found that trans fatty acids can increase the levels of bad cholesterol. Therefore, one should be well informed and aware of "partially hydrogenated vegetable oils" as these oils contain trans fatty acids that increase bad cholesterol.

6. Hats off to soluble fiber: Oats, vegetables, wheat's, legumes and fruits have high content of soluble fiber. And this soluble fiber is considered to increase the level of good cholesterol.

7. A recent research says that drinking cranberry juice will increase the level of good cholesterol in a person's body. But, generally all the fruit juices are good for health.
