1The pain is mainly caused by the inflammation of joints and muscles. Sometimes the symptoms resemble that of viral flu, as an acute pain in joints and muscles can make somebody feel really sick. The symptoms at times may look like those of arthritis, as the joints, which have an aching pain also, get swollen and become tender. In some patients the joint pain might not be so acute, but intense muscle tenderness may result in loss of strength.

Almost all joint injury and diseases produce a stiff, aching pain, often referred to as "arthritis" pain. However, because joint pain is so general, doctors usually base a specific diagnosis on the presence of other symptoms and results of laboratory tests. For example, Lyme disease is characterized by joint pain and a bull's eye skin rash; blood tests show antibodies to the bacteria that cause Lyme disease. Gout is characterized by a sudden do violence to of pain in the joint at the base of the big toe; blood tests generally show high levels of uric acid.

We all encounter the difficulty of joint and muscle pain at some point in our lives. It may attack us in one part of our body or another. Of course, nobody likes to feel pain. However, it is somewhat a necessary evil since it allows us to know that somewhat is wrong in our body. If pain is not there to let us know, we will have no thought that we are in trouble. Generally, pain can be confidential into two kinds; one is acute pain while the other is chronic pain.

For more than a year after he suffer a near-fatal car accident, Charlie Gardner kept up his busy pace as a civil engineer and avid skier. As the months passed, however, the 51-year-old Montara resident establish that the creeping discomfort in his right hip was worsening. “At first,” says Gardner, who speak with the drawl of his native Tennessee, “I thought it was a hitch in my get-along, but the pain became excruciating.”

Muscle and joint pains can be cured when detected at an early stage. In some cases, though, a permanent cure may not be possible. In other cases the patient may have to undergo surgery to put back certain joints. Muscle and joint pain can critically affect the activity level of any individual.
