There are so many different kinds of eggs to choose from when we are shopping in the supermarket. The only thing that really determines what size to get is what recipes they will be used for, or just how they will be used. There are different colors, as well, but we are only concerned with the size. Will it be medium, large, or jumbo?

The get them, we need chickens. And to get more chickens, we need roosters. We do not often think of how the egg got in the store or on our plates. But if you have seen the little chicks for sale in the spring, they were just that shortly before.

Different chickens lay different ones, and they may even vary in color. A chick needs to be kept very warm, with a hot lamp on them at all times in the beginning. Sometimes it is better to buy a few chicks, so that they can keep each other warm. They also need a lot of feed at this early age, and while they are growing, until it comes time for them to start laying them themselves.

The different colors are remarkable. If you ever bought them from a farm, you can see that some are blue and green and brown. It almost looks like an Easter basket. That is because different kinds of chickens laid them.

You will be able to taste the difference, and see it as well. The fresh natural egg has a deep yellow yolk. It actually looks healthier. Farmers who raise chickens to feed their own families also do not generally add hormones or other medicines to their feed. So in the end, the egg is natural and free of those harmful additives.

Those from a duck and goose can also be eaten. That of the quail are popular around the holidays because of their splendid speckled presentation. And they are so tiny and dainty. If you have ever seen how big an ostrich egg is, you will know that one of these can probably feel a whole family for breakfast all week long.

Mainly thought of as a breakfast meal, they can also be great with any meal. They are good in a sandwich for lunch. Or you can have them for lunch as a salad. They are great for brunches, along with sausages, or bacon, or ham. They are often served in restaurants along side other breakfast type foods, like pancakes or waffles. They are even served for breakfast with steak, or with potatoes. They can be boiled, hard or soft, poached, scrambled, sunny side up, and so forth. They are also good for dinner in a pinch. Omelets have an unlimited selection of foods that go with it, so those recipes are endless, as well.

In cake making, they are the one thing that is needed to hold the entire recipe together. They are the main ingredient in a number of other desserts, too, like custard and crepes. A world without eggs would be a world without so many other great things.

Eating fulfilling and nutritious breakfasts is part of a regular healthy lifestyle. Particularly, eggs make for easy recipes as well as healthy recipes due to their many health benefits.
