Bronchitis is a respiratory disorder in which the air passages (bronchi) that connect the windpipe with the lungs get inflamed. The soreness, resulting due to an infection (viral or bacterial) disrupts normal airflow within the lungs. Infants who are between 6 months and 2 years old are at risk of rising bronchitis, especially in the months of winter. It is observed that when common cold in infants is not treated correctly, it can lead to bronchitis.

When the child is tirelessly coughing & breathing with difficulty, you might be thinking that this no ordinary cough or cold. Well, make sure with your pediatrician as your baby might be suffering from Bronchiolitis.

Bronchitis usually occurs in the adults. In this disorder the big airways in our body get inflamed. Bronchiolitis refers to the infants with their airways sore between their chest & the lungs. This period is coined from the word bronchioles, a part of the bronchi of the infants that is naturally lesser than that of an adult. Therefore the infections in this case are easily plugged & viruses enter very easily

Symptoms Infant Bronchitis: -

Symptoms may include, a dry cough that will entail mucus being brought up out of the lungs, headache, chills, fever, soreness or tightness in the chest, wheezing and problems breathing. Children with this disease are more susceptible to other infections. Children with bronchitis, or who are victims of secondhand smoke, are more susceptible to a bronchitis infection.

Advice for Infant Bronchitis: -

Having a child or a baby is probably one of the best feelings that a parent could have in their lifetime and that is why it is only but natural that we try to give them the best and protect them from diseases and other factors that may harm them.

That is why we only take the necessary precautions like routine shots to shield them away from infant diseases like meningitis, hepatitis, infant bronchitis and so much more.

Infant bronchitis is one of the most disturbing diseases for the baby and parents, and here are some of the facts that you must know about it.

With the onset of symptoms of bronchitis in kids, you should at once make an appointment with the doctor to determine that bronchitis is indeed the culprit. In a lot of cases, a virus is the cause so you should do what you can to relieve the symptoms of bronchitis in children to make them more comfortable, which in turn speeds up the improvement process.

Fluids such as water, juice and warm soup are all enormous at soothing the cough as well as thinning the mucus secretions so that they are easier to expel. Occasionally, body aches and mild fever could occur so a children's pain reliever could be administered.

Steam from a shower or vaporizer also eases the symptoms of bronchitis in children and can be administered several times a day as needed.

For the most part, bronchitis clears up within five days to a week. However, if the symptoms of bronchitis in children last longer or recur frequently, a doctor can determine if there is an underlying condition which could be contributing to the problem.
