1Cholesterol is a fatty substance known as a lipid. It is mostly complete by the liver from the fatty foods we eat and is very important for the normal performance of the body (see box, left).

Having an very high level of lipids in your blood (hyperlipidemia) can have a serious result on your health as it increases your danger of having a heart attack or stroke.
Cholesterol is a waxy matter that plays an important role in building cell membranes and sex hormones. Found in the lipids (fats) of the blood, the substance is also a vital component of bile.
Bile, of course, is, a manufactured goods of the liver that break down fats so that humans can digest them. Cholesterol does not dissolve in the blood, and has to be carried to and from cells by lipoproteins.
Although there are many kind of lipoproteins, two are significant to know about: low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and high-density lipoproteins (HDL).

Metabolic syndrome

Renal failure
Excessive smoking
Symptoms of Cholesterol
Chest pain - When a person experiences this, they describe a feeling of "pressure", "squeezing", or a general feeling of "someone sitting on their chest."
In addition to the report pressure, other symptoms can include nausea, shortness of breath, sweatingdizziness or dizziness, and heart palpitations.
Numbness and/or tingling in the lower extremities.
A cold sensation in the lower extremities.
Open sores or ulcers on the lower extremity that do not heal normally.
Treatment of Cholesterol
Cardiovascular disease and its subset coronary heart disease are leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the United States and world wide.
In general, senior levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol are linked with an increased risk of coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, and stroke.
Reducing nutritional fat can improve total cholesterol levels, but resulting reductions in cardiovascular outcome are not well documented.
The Mediterranean diet is the only nutritional intervention linked with a reduction in all-cause mortality.
Treatment with cholesterol-lower medications decrease the rate of cardiovascular events, but a decrease in all-cause humanity with these agents has been found only in patients with pre-obtainable coronary heart disease.
Home Remedies for Cholesterol
1. The best home remedy to cure a person with high cholesterol is to have at least 8-10 glasses of water per day.
2. Immerse 2 tablespoons of coriander seeds in a glass of water. Boil the concoction and allow it to cool. Strain the water and have it three era a day.
3. Take 10 pieces of cinnamon firewood and put them in a pot containing 5 teacups of water. Boil the water and then append a tablespoon of honey to it. Drink this potion when it's warm.
4. In a glassful of milk, add a piece of garlic and boil it. Allow it to cool prior to drinking. Consume this for a few days. Not only would it reduce cholesterol, but also take care of the cardiac pains.
5. Alternatively, a person who has evils of high cholesterol can also have 2-3 cloves of garlic per day.
6. Mix 10-12 tablespoons of apple juice and 5-6 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Intake this combination once a day.
7. Consuming raw onions or onion juice is also valuable in reducing the high cholesterol.
8. Regular exercising is very necessary to keep the cholesterol levels under control.
