A migraine is much more than a bad headache. A migraine headache is a recurrent, throbbing headache usually felt on one side of the head. Migraines usually begin in early childhood, adolescence, or young adult life. Migraine pain can be excruciating, and may incapacitate you for hours or even days.

Most people have heard of migraine headaches, but most don't realize that there are actually several different kinds. An abdominal migraine affects not just the head but the abdomen, and usually occurs in children. A basilar migraine is one that affects the person in the back of the neck and / or brain. Migraines most commonly occur in women and usually start between the ages of 10 and 46. Migraines can be difficult to diagnose. Without proper diagnosis, the patient cannot get the proper treatment. It is more likely the patient visits the doctor headache-free so it is important to describe the symptoms in a very clear way.

When it comes to the symptoms of a migraine you need to know exactly what you are up against. Simply put, you do not know just how bad a migraine headache can be until you are struck with one. The symptoms can be quite serious, and if you are not careful they may shut your life down for a day or more.

Symptoms of Migraine: -

• Severe headache
• Sound sensitivity
• Throbbing headache
• Pain over one eye
• Sound sensitivity
• One-sided headache
• Frontal headache
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Weakness
• Vision disturbance
• Light sensitivity

Preventing migraine attacks / headaches usually involves all those habits you've heard you should adopt: regular exercise, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, and staying away from cigarettes and too much alcohol. Mastering good posture also helps. Plus, most doctors suggest that the migraine sufferer learn what their particular migraine triggers are. A trigger is something such as a food, sight, sound or smell that brings on an attack.

Some Home Remedies for Migraine: -

• Exercise: - We all know that regular exercise helps us cope with pain. It's especially effective for people with migraine. Some even find that mild exercise during a migraine helps alleviate the pain.
• Avoid: -To prevent migraine avoid or reduce white flour products, sugar, confectionery, rich cakes, pastries, sweets, refined cereals, greasy foods, tinned or preserved foods, pickles, condiments and sauces.
• Garlic: - Include garlic in your diet. Either chew a piece of garlic in the raw form or mix it with other food items.
• Heat and Cold: - For some people with headache it's one, with some it's another. Experiment, but avoid extremes, which can make things worse! Try a cold pack wrapped in a couple layers of towel on your neck. One of my favorites is putting your hands in hot water, which seems to pull the pressure out of your head.
• Use Lemon Crust: -Lemon crusts can cure migraine. Grind lemon crust and apply as a paste on the forehead. Migraine cures using this remedy has been found very effective and long lasting by many. Lemon peel is helpful in solving migraine headache. Grind lemon peel to form a paste and apply it on the forehead. Let it dry and then rinse off with cool water.

When most people think of depression they normally only think of the two most common symptoms; feeling blue or sad for an extended period of time or the condition known as anhedonia where someone fails to find pleasure in the things that normally bring them happiness. Unfortunately clinical depression symptoms are much more than those two things and for millions who suffer its effects the results can be devastating.
