1Depressive disorders have been with mankind since the start of recorded history. In the Bible, King David, as well as Job, suffer from this affliction.

Hippocrates referred to stress as melancholia, which literally means black bile.

Black bile, along with blood, phlegm, and yellow bile were the four humors (fluids) that describe the basic medical physiology theory of that time.

Everyone occasionally feels blue or sad, but these outlook are usually fleeting and pass within a couple of days.

When a person has a depressive mess, it interfere with daily life, normal functioning, and causes pain for both the person with the chaos and those who care about him or her.

Stress is a common but grave illness, and most who experience it need treatment to get better.

Many people with a depressive illness never seek treatment. But the vast bulk, even those with the most severe stress, can get better with treatment.

Intensive research into the illness has resulted in the expansion of medications, psychotherapies, and other methods to treat people with this disable disorder.

Causes of Stress

1. Family history. Genetics play an imperative part in stress. It can run in families for generations.

2. Trauma and stress. Things like monetary problems, the breakup of a relationship, or the death of a loved one can bring on stress.

You can become miserable after changes in your life, like starting a new job, graduating from school, or getting married.

3. Pessimistic personality. People who have low self-worth and a negative outlook are at higher risk of becoming depressed.
These traits may in fact be caused by low-level stress (called dysthymia).

4. Physical conditions. Serious medical circumstances like heart disease, cancer, and HIV can contribute to stress, partly because of the physical flaw and stress they bring on.

Symptoms of Stress

1. Feelings of helplessness and bleakness. A bleak outlook—nothing will ever get better and there's nothing you can do to improve your situation.

2. Loss of interest in daily activities. No interest in former hobbies, pastimes, social activities, or sex. You've lost your ability to feel joy and pleasure.

3. Appetite or weight changes. Significant weight loss or weight gain—a change of more than 5% of body weight in a month.

4. Sleep changes. Either sleeplessness, especially waking in the early hours of the morning, or oversleeping (also known as hypersomnia).

Treatment of Stress

1. Learn as much as you can concerning your stress. It's important to determine whether your stress symptoms are due to an underlying medical condition.

2. If so, that condition will need to be treated first. How severe your stress is also has a role in treatment; the more severe the stress, the more intensive the treatment is likely to be.

3. It takes time to find the right treatment. It might take a number of trial and error to find the treatment and supports that works best for you.

4. For example, it might take a few tries to find a therapist that you click with if you decide to pursue therapy.

Or you may try different types of exercise, finally to find that what's best for you may be a twenty-minute walk after work. Be open to change and a little testing.

Home Remedies for Stress

Stress remedy - Add some fresh Rose petals to a cup of boiling water. Add sugar and drink whenever feeling miserable.
Make a fine mixture of 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg powder and 1
tablespoon of freshly extracted amla juice. Take this mixture 3 times in a day.

This is one of the good natural remedy for stress.
Licorice tea is helpful stress treatment. No more than three cups of tea should be used per day of licorice tea.

This remedy is very helpful and one of the easy home remedies for stress.

5HTP is a substance extract from the seedpods of the plant called Griffonia simplicifolia. It produces serotonin in the body and helpful in relieve despair. This is one of the effective stress cure.
