The thing that surprises me the most nowadays is that there are so many diet programs out there and still many people keep on getting fatter and fatter. The reason is because most of them stick using fad diets even if they are getting negative results. It's time that people finally understood just why fad diets never work. The thing about going on fad diets is that they make your body to go into starvation mode. When the body is in starvation it starts to burn muscles instead of fat so that it can be able to generate energy. Due to the loss in muscles a person's metabolism decreases. When your body metabolism decreases you will not be able to burn much calories and this will make you gain weight.

Your road to losing weight will be much easier if you follow the tips below;

1. Lift weights: the factor that determines your rate of metabolism is your muscles. The more muscles you have the higher the rate of your body metabolism is going to be. That is the reason why men burn faster compared to there female counterpart. Men have more muscles than females.

Many women are scared to lift weights because they think they are going to get huge muscles. This is however not the case since there body does not have testosterone which is the hormone responsible for getting huge muscles. Instead they have the oestrogen hormone which is the female hormone. We tend to lose plenty of muscles as we age and also due to crazy dieting. When our muscles deplete, our body metabolism slows down causing us to burn fewer calories which makes us to gain weight. If you want to keep your muscles you need to undertake weight training exercises.

2. Toss the scales: the scale lacks the capability of telling you what you need to know about your body. They cannot determine the amount of fat you have plus they cannot tell you just how much fluid you have in your body. They cannot also help you determine how much your bones weigh and how much muscles your body has.

You should therefore throw your weighing scale away since they will only spoil your day.

3. Muscle Vs Fat: Muscles weight twice as much as fat and yet they take half the space occupied by fat. Muscles are responsible for burning fat. Compared to fat muscles are very small. If you want to improve your body physique you need to work on increasing your body muscles. If your body has a lot of fat, this will affect your body physique since fat tends to look flabby.

4. Never neglect breakfast: This is the most important meal of the day since it helps kick start the metabolic process. You should also increase your intake of fiber during this period because it will help your digestion. It will also help spread your blood sugar levels throughout the entire day.
